HUNTERS OF AMERICA PRE-COLOMBIAN

By: Valdemir Mota de Menezes, the Scribe:

The people of this region were hunters and farmers. planted

corn, beans and squash and hunted birds and animals,

as the huge bison. To hunt they had to walk,

for the Native American horse became extinct in prehistoric times,

soon after the last ice age. To capture the bison, the men wore

skins of wolves and frightened animals, pushing them into a

site, where another group of men armed with spears waited ready

to kill the bison.

There were many different nations in this region can be divided according

their way of life. Some nations were nomadic, like the Crow, the

Pre-blacks, arapahoe, the Cheyenne and Comanche. These people wandered

the plains following the herds of bison in their migrations.
